Facebook is not even close to having end-to-end encryption by default on all of the apps they own (Facebook, Facebook Messenger, Instagram, and WhatsApp). The only Facebook-owned app that has end-to-end encryption by default right now is WhatsApp, so if you HAVE to use one, we would highly suggest using WhatsApp. Facebook and its Messenger app have been delisted from Windows Phone Store. So if you want to use Facebook and the Messenger app, it is advisable that you look somewhere else. And unfortunately, you have only two choices, Android or iOS. This comes at a time when WhatsApp is already in the process of putting. Messenger Kids is a free video calling and messaging app for smartphones and tablets. Parents manage the contact list, and kids control the fun. Keep in touch with close friends and family with fun-filled features like filters and stickers.
Facebook and its Messenger app have been delisted from Windows Phone Store. So if you want to use Facebook and the Messenger app, it is advisable that you look somewhere else. And unfortunately, you have only two choices, Android or iOS.
This comes at a time when WhatsApp is already in the process of putting an end to support for all versions of Windows Phone and Windows 10 Mobile. As we reported earlier, Windows Phone users will not be able to use WhatsApp on their Windows smartphone after December 31.
Fortunately, Facebook and its Messenger app are still available in the Windows Phone Store as a beta app, and that means Windows Phone users will still be able to use them as long as Facebook decides to keep their beta version in the store. However, if you’re heavily dependant on Facebook, you definitely wouldn’t want to run a beta app for your daily conversation.
But if you’re an ardent Windows Phone fan, use Facebook daily and don’t want to bid goodbye to Windows Phone any time soon, the best option is to try mbasic.facebook.com or touch.facebook.com. They are definitely better than the beta version.
Are you still using Windows Phone as your primary smartphone? Can you see the Facebook and Messenger app in the Store? Do let us know in the comments below.

How to Use Facebook Without the App
Let’s face it, we’re all paranoid about using the Facebook App on our iPhones. People have posted plenty of videos perpetuating a conspiracy theory about the stalker feature of the Facebook Messenger App see here and here. Facebook hasn’t done much to calm fears in the wake of continued concerns. If you’re still feeling a little creeped out following Zuckerberg’s testimony in Congress this week, fear not, we’ve got the answers for how you can use Facebook without the App and avoid life-imposing consequences altogether.
A lot of people feel the standalone Facebook Messenger app was unnecessary, but there’s actually a lot of useful features and functionality built into it. Today, Facebook made Messenger even.
Step 1: DELETE THE FACEBOOK APP AND MESSENGER APP
This is a simple, but necessary first step. Don’t worry, none of your content will be deleted.
Step 2: OPEN SAFARI OR CHROME ON YOUR PHONE
Instead of opening Facebook from an app, simple use the mobile version accessible through your phone browser. Once open, go to www.facebook.com and sign in. Make sure to bookmark the page for quick access. You can also put a bookmark icon on your home screen so access closely mimics using the App. Basically all functionality is accessible through the mobile version including Ads and page management. One thing I’ve noticed that don’t seem to come through on mobile are Canvas Ads. Not a huge loss there from a user experience.
Step 3: BOOKMARK FULL FACEBOOK SITE
One of the downsides to the mobile browser version of Facebook is that it doesn’t allow you to access Messenger. The best workaround for how to access Facebook Messenger without the App is to use the full desktop version of Facebook. Go to https://www.facebook.com/home.php for the full version. It isn’t mobile friendly, but at least you’ll be able to access and respond to any messages in Messenger.
Step 4: SET UP NOTIFICATIONS IN MOBILE FACEBOOK
One of the few downsides to using the mobile site is that it doesn’t behave like the app and walk you through setting up notifications. However, you can go to Account Settings -> Notifications and set up your preferences for notifications on post updates.
Here are a few samples of how the mobile site and full site look in Safari on an iPhone.
